Mi Hub Ltd understands that the technology required to extract carbon from the atmosphere is not currently a viable option for most companies, making Carbon Net Zero a future aspiration.

Mi Hub Ltd is committed to achieving verified carbon neutrality, which will drive us to reduce our carbon impact before offsetting the remainder of our carbon footprint. We will seek external verification to these claims using the PAS 2060 Carbon Neutrality standard.

The below are the three common terms you will hear and the correct definitions and use.

Carbon Neutral

Carbon neutral means balancing GHG emissions by “offsetting” – or removing from the atmosphere – an equivalent amount of carbon for the amount produced. This can be achieved by buying “carbon credits”

Net-Zero Carbon

Net-zero carbon is reached when the amount of CO2e emitted is matched by the quantity of CO2e removed. It accompanied by a target date for when this occur. You cannot achieve net –zero carbon by offsetting.

  • Carbon Reduction
  • Carbon Removal/Capture

Zero Carbon

This means that no CO2e is emitted at all for an organisation – not really possible (yet).
