RISE: Reimagining Industry for Equality aims to foster extensive collaborative efforts within the garment, footwear, and home textiles supply chains to propel gender equality forward.
This initiative unites the most prominent women's empowerment programs in the apparel industry—BSR's HERproject, Gap Inc. P.A.C.E, CARE International, and Better Work. Together, these programs partner with 50 of the world's leading apparel brands, including Mi Hub, making a significant impact by positively influencing over five million women workers worldwide.
As full members of the ETI for over 15 years, we fully endorse and support their vision to act responsibly and promote decent work. Our strategy has been formulated to be consistent with the ETI Base Code. We use this as the benchmark for audit, alongside country law, and implement this into our supply chain.
The Slave Free Alliance is a social enterprise and membership initiative launched by anti-slavery charity Hope for Justice. In 2020 Mi Hub joined the Slave- Free Alliance. We recognised that we needed to be at the forefront of a global movement, demonstrating our ethical commitment to our workforce.
As part of our own Modern Slavery focus, it is our intention to encourage our supply chains to have an awareness of and pay attention to Modern Slavery and what risks there are to businesses and workers.
We have partnered with Intertek to implement their Inlight programme which aims to deliver supply chain risk transparency and visibility via a supplier management tool. We have implemented the Modern Slavery compliance module and rolled it out to our strategic suppliers.
BCI sourced cotton is a global approach that provides a solution that brings together farmers, ginners, traders, spinners, mills, cut & sew, manufacturers, retailers, brands, civil society and grassroots organisations in a unique global community committed to developing Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity. Responsible cotton production means the management of cotton farms in a way that maintains their biodiversity, productivity, and regeneration capacity. We expect all parties in our value chain to be progressively working towards sourcing more sustainable cotton.
Mi Hub joined the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX) in 2008 and continually monitor our supply chain, and submit relevant information through the SEDEX database. Part of the SMETA 4 pillar audit states that factories must 'measure its impacts, including continuous recording and regular reviews of use and discharge of natural resources e.g. energy use and water use' and 'make continuous improvements in their environmental performance.
