Mi Hub Achieves Science-Based Target Five Years Ahead of Schedule
2:08

Mi Hub is proud to announce that it has achieved its near-term Science-Based Target (SBT) to reduce Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions five years earlier than planned; a milestone that reflects the Group’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and responsible business practice.

In August 2024, Mi Hub published its Science-Based Targets (SBTs) to guide its pathway to Net Zero by 2050. These included a near-term goal to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030, alongside a long-term commitment to reduce total Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050.

Mi Hub’s targets were set and are measured against our 2022/2023 baseline reporting year. Mi Hub uses the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, a globally recognised framework to measure and manage greenhouse gas emissions across its operations and value chains.

Since then, significant investment and action have been directed towards decarbonising operations and building a more resilient, climate-positive business. Key initiatives have included:

  • Reducing the operational footprint across sites
  • Implementing an advanced gas management system
  • Installing solar panels at the Group’s head office
  • Introducing the ‘Green Zone’ and ‘Green Hour’ initiatives to engage and empower colleagues
  • Transitioning the company car fleet to lower-carbon alternatives

Thanks to these collective efforts, Mi Hub has surpassed its near-term Scope 1 and 2 target with a 50.7% reduction in emissions reported for 2025, exceeding its original commitment of a 42% reduction by 2030, based on 2024/2025 carbon data set.

Michelle Mak, ESG Co-Ordinator at Mi Hub, commented:

“This year, we have gained an accurate overview of our carbon footprint. While we have undertaken a recalibration of our Science-Based Target (SBT), we have continued to reduce emissions and ensure a credible trajectory towards Net Zero.”

As Mi Hub celebrates this significant achievement, the Group remains focused on addressing Scope 3 emissions and driving further reductions throughout its value chain, in partnership with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.

This milestone demonstrates that ambitious climate action is possible with collaboration, accountability, and a clear strategy.
