At Mi Hub, we believe that uniforms are more than just attire - they are a symbol of pride, professionalism, and belonging. That’s why, in 2023, we launched the Uniform Hero campaign in conjunction with our annual International Uniform Week, a week-long celebration held each year during the same week as Valentine’s Day. The campaign aims to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who wear uniforms and take pride in representing their professions.
This year, we are thrilled to announce the second winner of our Uniform Hero campaign, someone who exemplifies what it means to truly love your uniform.
A Heartfelt Surprise
Our second winner, Margaret - Technician at Well Pharmacy, was genuinely moved when she learned that she had been selected as a Uniform Hero. Her reaction was nothing short of emotional - a powerful reminder of how much pride individuals take in their work and the uniform they wear. For Margaret, this win was an unexpected yet deeply meaningful acknowledgment of the dedication and passion she brings to her role every day.
When asked about her feelings, Margaret shared how much it meant to her to be recognised in this way. “I never expected something like this to happen,” she said. “Wearing my uniform is such a source of pride for me. It’s a part of who I am, and to be chosen as a Uniform Hero just makes me feel even more connected to my work and my community.”
What is the Uniform Hero Campaign?
The Uniform Hero campaign was designed as part of Mi Hub’s celebration of International Uniform Week, which recognises the essential contributions of uniform-wearing individuals in all industries. From healthcare workers to public safety officers, hospitality staff to retail associates, Uniform Hero aims to shine a spotlight on those who take pride in their uniforms and what they represent.
During International Uniform Week, Mi Hub encourages individuals to share selfies, outfit-of-the-day photos, or "get ready with me" videos while wearing their uniforms. But it’s not just about the pictures—it’s about the stories behind the uniform. We want to hear why wearing your uniform matters to you. Is it the sense of belonging and unity? The pride in representing a community or organisation? Or perhaps it’s something deeply personal? Whatever it is, we want to celebrate the powerful connection between individuals and the uniforms they wear.
How the Selection Works
Uniform heroes are chosen based on the quality of their submission and the heartfelt story they share about their uniform. Whether it’s a selfie that captures the joy of a workday or a video that highlights the pride they feel, each entry reflects the passion and dedication that goes into wearing a uniform with pride.
In addition to celebrating their pride in their profession, the winners are surprised on the job throughout the year, creating memorable moments that recognise their dedication and commitment to their work.
A Year of Surprises
Margaret joins a growing list of uniform heroes who have been celebrated as part of this ongoing campaign since launch. The goal is to create a lasting impact by celebrating the unsung heroes who wear their uniforms with pride.
What Makes a Uniform Hero?
A Uniform Hero is someone who embodies the spirit of their uniform—someone who goes above and beyond in their role and feels an unshakeable sense of pride in representing their profession, organisation, or community. For many, a uniform is not just a piece of clothing; it’s a reflection of their commitment, values, and identity. Whether it's a first responder, a teacher, a nurse, or anyone else who wears a uniform, these individuals make a difference every day—and they deserve to be recognised.
