Mi Hub announces Charity Partnerships for 2023 - 2026

Earlier in the year we put a call out and welcomed submissions from all corners of the globe, seeking charities that align with its ambitions and share its values of community, sustainability and integrity. 

Submissions closed in October 2022, with the charities being shortlisted and selected internally by Mi Hub colleagues.

Mi Hub has now revealed that its new charity partners for 2023-2026 are:

• The Mi Hub Group partnership – Crisis
• Local to Derby - My Bag Charity and the Castle Donnington Volunteer Centre 
• Local to Thornbury – The Children’s Hospice Southwest 
• Local to Jeffersonville – Jeffersonville Community Kitchen (also international support for the Salvation Army)  

Following our recent enhancement to our employee benefits package giving you paid time off to volunteer, this incentive will allow Mi Hub colleagues to support, volunteer and gift your time to recognised charities of your choosing, including to the newly announced partnerships, during working hours.

“We’re delighted to announce our new charity partners for 2023-2026. When selecting our final charities, we needed to choose charities close to our employees’ hearts, whilst also ensuring the charities shared our values.

We’ve kicked off our partnerships with a £1,000 donation to Crisis as our corporate Christmas donation.” 

Hayley added: “Our commitment to ESG is in our DNA at Mi Hub, and having supported several charities over the years, our colleagues are incredible when it comes to raising money, donating their time, knowledge and resources, and championing causes they care about. I can’t wait to see these partnerships develop and achieve great things over the next three years.”

Crisis

 Crisis work directly with thousands of homeless people every year. They provide vital help so that people can rebuild their lives and are supported out of homelessness for good. Crisis offers one to one support, advice and courses for homeless people in 12 areas across England, Scotland and Wales.

How they help someone depends on their individual needs and situation. It could be with finding a home and settling in, getting new skills and finding a job, or help with their health and wellbeing. Together with homeless people and Crisis supporters, they campaign for the changes needed to end homelessness for good.

My Bag Charity

My Bag Charity provides a practical bag of comfort items for every child who enters foster care. Over 32,000 children enter foster care each year. That’s 88 children each and every day. Of these, nearly 600 live in Nottinghamshire. That is 1 child every 17 hours in Nottinghamshire alone.

Castle Donington Volunteer Centre

Over the years we have evolved from meals on wheels to providing a range of services including community minibuses, medical car services, lunch clubs and social groups. For 40 years we have met the needs of the communities of Castle Donington and the surrounding villages. We support a diverse range of people, in particular those that are older, disabled or infirm, local groups (sports clubs, art groups, lunch clubs). 

Children's Hospice Southwest

For more than 30 years Children's Hospice South West has been caring for children with life-threatening conditions by providing children's hospice and professional family support services. They are dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives through the provision of the best possible hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The care offered at each of the three hospices is not just about medical and nursing support for sick children but enriching lives of the children and their whole family.

“We are so excited to have been chosen as Mi Hub’s local charity partner for Thornbury. We have a whole calendar of events planned and we’re looking forward to sharing more about the charity, how the team can get involved and why their support makes a difference, throughout 2023 and beyond!”

Jeffersonville Community Kitchen

The Community Kitchen, located at 1611 Spring Street in Jeffersonville, Indiana, is a charitable organisation whose mission is to provide a free, hot meal, 5 days a week, to the needy and hungry in our area.  Founded in 1989 by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Kitchen began as a small operation but has grown steadily and now serves 52,000 meals annually.  It is wholly supported by cash and in-kind donations from the township trustee and local businesses, churches and individuals.
