Mi Hub Achieves ISO 14064-1 Verification for its Carbon Footprint
3:14

Mi Hub has achieved ISO 14064-1:2019 Greenhouse Gases, becoming the first business in the uniform and corporate workwear industry to hold a fully verified operational carbon footprint. This milestone demonstrates the robustness, accuracy and integrity of the Group’s carbon reporting, and marks a major step forward in Mi Hub’s long-term ESG commitment.

Achieving ISO 14064-1 verification confirms that Mi Hub has met the globally recognised standard for designing, developing, managing and reporting a comprehensive carbon inventory. Over the past 12 months, the Group’s dedicated ESG team has worked closely with external carbon specialists to gather, test and validate data line by line, ensuring accuracy across all emissions sources.

Why Mi Hub Pursued ISO 14064-1 Verification

At the core of this achievement is Mi Hub’s commitment to accurate, activity-based carbon data. Unlike spend-based analysis, where emissions are tied to financial transactions, activity-based calculation uses scientifically recognised emissions factors linked to real-world processes. This approach offers:

  • Accuracy: Data reflects actual physical activities, not expenditure.

  • Actionability: Enables targeted carbon reduction projects in both the short and long term.

  • Compliance: Aligns with ISO standards and emerging government reporting requirements.

  • Credibility: Provides a verified foundation for future science-based targets.

As sustainability often requires investment, whether in materials, equipment or logistics, Mi Hub chose a methodology that captures genuine, measurable reductions.

Building a Verified, Global Carbon Footprint

Mi Hub’s operations and customer base, across it’s group of brands, span multiple regions, bringing significant complexity to emissions calculation. To ensure consistency and reliability, the ESG team created five tailored methodologies aligned to ISO principles of completeness, consistency, accuracy, transparency and relevance. These frameworks highlight data gaps, drive continuous improvement and provide a clear blueprint for future reporting.

Supporting Customers on Their Net Zero Pathway

This verification not only strengthens Mi Hub’s internal reporting, but also enhances the support the Mi Hub brands offer to customers. With a verified carbon footprint, the Group can provide dependable emissions data that contributes directly to customers’ net zero progress. Over time, this will enable deeper collaboration, knowledge sharing and more sustainable supply chain decision-making.

Steph Barnard, Director of ESG and Risk said:
“Achieving ISO 14064-1 verification is a landmark moment for the Mi Hub Group, and for our customers. We are proud to be the first in our industry to reach this level of accuracy and assurance in carbon reporting. This outcome reflects months of rigorous work across our teams, and it provides a credible foundation for customers who rely on us as part of their own sustainability journey. Verified data matters, and this achievement sets a new benchmark for our sector.”
