On Wednesday 25 September 2024, Mi Hub raised a flag alongside thousands of others across the world during the 9th anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Pictured from left to right holding the flag is Mi Hub's dedicated ESG team; Lisa - ESG and Risk Coordinator, Stephanie - Director of ESG & Risk, Michelle - ESG Coordinator, and Vicki - ESG Manager.

Mi Hub's ESG team is working to achieve the four pillars of Mi Hub's ESG strategy and hold Mi Hub and its family of brands accountable to maintain, achieve, and launch all the initiatives against the ESG programme. The ESG team, supported by the wider business, is actioning positive change and working towards the goals, which will be achieved by developing relationships, skills, and knowledge with our internal staff and external suppliers and by building a responsible supply base through our programmes.

What are the SDG Goals?

Launched in 2015, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a framework which covers international priority areas including a broad range of social and economic development issues set through to 2030. The initiatives form a shared global agenda to tackle the world’s biggest global challenges on environmental improvement, equality, and social empowerment.

About Mi Hub's Commitment

Mi Hub aligns its ESG strategy to 10 of the 17 SDGs that are most relevant its business operations and the types of products that they manufacture.

Mi Hub has taken ownership of its business impacts throughout its supply chain and have identified areas where its impact is the greatest. Mi Hub has summarised the key activities that they will take on in relation to tackling the 10 SDGs.

About the SDG Flag Campaign

The 17 SDGs call for worldwide collaboration between governments, businesses, and civil society to deliver a powerful vision for improving our world by 2030. They are the blueprint for a better world and the framework to create a sustainable future.

The SDGs set out targets to realise the human rights of all, and to achieve gender equality, eradicate poverty, combat catastrophic climate change, and protect our natural environment.

Globally, only 16% of SDG targets are currently on track to be achieved by 2030. The remaining 84% show limited or a reversal of progress. Therefore, the need for action on the Goals is now greater than ever.

This is why the SDG Flag Campaign is back for a third year, with over 650 institutions across the UK working #TogetherForTheSDGs.

By raising the SDG Flag, alongside other UK companies, civil society, educational centres, and government organisations alike Mi Hub will show its commitment to the Global Goals and the action that they are taking to combat major challenges.
