Mi Hub has been appointed as a Business Ambassador for Rebuild East Midlands, a Derbyshire-based charity supporting adult survivors of modern slavery.
The partnership strengthens Mi Hub’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and reinforces its commitment to responsible business practice, ethical supply chains, and social value creation.
Rebuild East Midlands is the only charity in the region providing long-term, holistic support to adult survivors of modern slavery, helping individuals rebuild their lives free from exploitation.
The charity works in partnership with local authorities, police, health services and voluntary organisations through the Derbyshire Modern Slavery Partnership, ensuring a coordinated approach to identifying and supporting survivors.
Its mission is clear: to ensure no survivor has to recover alone.
As part of the Business Ambassador partnership, Mi Hub will work closely with Rebuild East Midlands to enhance awareness of modern slavery risks, strengthen ethical business practice, and support wider ESG objectives.
Rebuild provides survivor-informed consultancy and training designed to help organisations:
Mitigate modern slavery and supply chain risks
Strengthen compliance with UK and EU legislation
Enhance ethical consumer and investor confidence
Improve workforce awareness and engagement
Rebuild East Midlands takes a survivor-informed approach, with lived experience embedded in its services. This ensures support is practical, relevant and shaped by real recovery journeys.
Unlike short-term interventions, Rebuild provides ongoing, holistic support designed to help survivors rebuild their lives over time.
As a Business Ambassador, Mi Hub will also benefit from access to practical tools and insight that help organisations strengthen their approach to modern slavery awareness and human rights responsibilities.
To support the organisation, Mi Hub has donated branded fleeces and hoodies for Rebuild East Midlands’ office team. These items support day-to-day comfort for colleagues working directly with survivors and are featured in accompanying imagery.
This contribution marks an early, practical step in the partnership, alongside Mi Hub’s longer-term strategic commitment.
Julie Taylor, Ethical Compliance Manager at Mi Hub, said:
“Becoming a Business Ambassador for Rebuild East Midlands reflects our commitment to meaningful ESG action at a local level. Their work supporting survivors of modern slavery is essential, and we are proud to support an organisation that delivers such important, long-term impact. This partnership allows us to strengthen our approach to responsible business while contributing directly to positive change.”
Paul McAnulty, CEO at Rebuild East Midlands, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Mi Hub as a Rebuild Business Ambassador. Partnerships like this are vital in helping us continue delivering survivor-led, long-term support. Mi Hub is already doing great work in modern slavery compliance and by working together, we can strengthen business awareness of modern slavery risks while ensuring more survivors receive the support they need to rebuild their lives.”
Through the Business Ambassador programme, Mi Hub will gain access to survivor-informed insight and practical tools that support compliance with modern slavery legislation, ESG commitments and human rights responsibilities.
The partnership also supports businesses in building resilience across supply chains, improving ethical awareness, and strengthening internal capability to identify and respond to modern slavery risks.
In addition, Mi Hub will work with Rebuild East Midlands to help raise awareness of the signs of modern slavery, supporting earlier identification and intervention.
The collaboration connects Mi Hub to a wider network of organisations committed to ethical, inclusive and sustainable business practices, reinforcing the link between responsible business and positive social impact.
