Dimensions’ Commercial Director, Ian, and Senior Account Manager, Keith, recently volunteered their time to support young people at Co-op Academy Manchester, taking part in a large-scale mock interview event designed to help students prepare for the world of work.
Held on 11th June 2024, the initiative welcomed around 300 Year 10 students from the Blackley-based academy, giving them the opportunity to experience a professional interview setting for the very first time. Alongside more than 40 volunteers from business, education and the wider community, Ian and Keith offered interview practice, encouragement and constructive feedback to help build the students’ confidence and communication skills.
The event forms part of the Co-op’s wider commitment to social value and employment education through its Goods Not For Resale Policy. As a trusted supplier partner, Dimensions is committed to supporting initiatives that positively impact local communities, while continuing to uphold the environmental, human rights and labour standards outlined by the Co-op.
For many of the students involved, the mock interviews were an important first step in preparing for future college applications, apprenticeships and career opportunities. By creating a supportive and realistic environment, the programme helps young people develop valuable life skills and gain confidence in their abilities.
Dimensions is proud to support the Co-op Academies Trust and its Career Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme, which plays a vital role in helping students explore their future pathways and ambitions.
Supporting initiatives like this reflects Dimensions’ ongoing commitment to community engagement and social responsibility. By investing time in future generations, the team hopes to inspire confidence, encourage ambition and help young people feel better prepared for the opportunities ahead.
